David is Professor of Literature and the Environment at the University of Edinburgh. He is the author of Anthropocene Poetics: Deep Time, Sacrifice Zones, and Extinction (University of Minnesota Press,  2019) and Footprints: In Search of Future Fossils (4th Estate, 2002) Footprints was awarded the Royal Society of Literature’s Giles St Aubyn prize for non-fiction, and has been translated into eight languages.
